Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Reference Group
Representatives from each State, Territory and the Commonwealth will comprise the HWSA Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Reference Group.
The Group was established to address social justice issues of access and equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, organisations and communities to Occupational Health & Safety and Workers Compensation services.
This will be achieved by open information sharing about culturally appropriate programs and resources relating to Occupational Health & Safety and Workers Compensation services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, organisations and communities, across jurisdictions.
The Group intends to meet prior to each HWSA meeting to share information on:
- Previous and current programs conducted by jurisdictions that might be considered for roll-out across or by other jurisdictions; and
- Current resources that might be used between jurisdictions, without intellectual property or copyright restrictions.
